Helping you enhance your awareness, widen perspectives & develop flexible approaches to life

My mission is to make behavioural science accessible, practical and fun for adults in the workplace, to create lasting and sustainable change. I’m driven by my personal values to make a difference for individuals and organisations.

My story

I first came across ACT as a mature student at City, University of London (CUL) during a 2014 lecture given by Dr Paul Flaxman. Having left a successful career in the UK Civil Service, I’d been on a quest to deepen my knowledge of the science and psychology behind both leaders and organisations.

Since then, I’ve built my career around serving individuals and organisations through the innovative application of behavioural science to support awareness, authentic action and adaptability, with a focus on improving mental health.

The discovery of ACT resonated with me in such a profound way that I’ve continued on that knowledge-seeking quest ever since – through learning and practical application. Over the years I’ve designed and delivered interventions based on ACT with organisations in every sector. From the NHS, teachers and charities to hedge fund managers, global tech and professional ballet dancers.

Through my “research-practitioner” partnership with Dr Paul Flaxman at CUL, I maintain a close link with developments in the field. My motivation to reach a wider audience led to the creation of my award-winning podcast, People Soup in 2018.

Previously, I’d held senior roles in the UK Civil Service for over 20 years, including Head of Leadership Assessment and Development for the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills. Other accolades include being a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Personnel and Development (CIPD), a Fellow Member of the Association for Coaching and a Fellow of the RSA (The Royal Society for Arts, Manufactures and Commerce). I’m also a member of the British Psychological Society and the Association for Contextual Behavioural Science.

I hold a BSc Honours degree in Psychology from the University of Dundee, an MSc in Human Resource Management from the University of Surrey Business School and an MSc in Organisational Psychology from City, University of London.
